We were introduced to Sea Mavern through one of our favourite people to follow on instagram @sophiehellyerdue to her amazing campaign Rise Fierce; getting more people cold water swimming and building cold water communities that 'encourage women to jump in & rise up.'

Sea Mavern is an independent surfing magazine both online and now also in print that focuses on surfing, sailing and ocean communities. Sea Mavern's mission is to center the voices of people who are underrepresented in surfing media, to celebrate the diverse experiences surrounding surfing and the ocean and to promote meaningful discussion on social and political matters facing ocean communities... and we are so here for it!

The article that caught our eye was a piece on Pro Surfer Alana Blanchard opening up about her eating disorder struggles. This is such an important discussion on female sexualisation in sport; particularly amongst female athletes in action sports. 100% well worth a read!

Read the article on the Sea Mavern Website here.

Another Level Podcast - Taylor Lundquist and Laura Obermeyer

We love Another Level podcast from ski media faves Level 1 Productions for keeping up to date with all things skiing. Over the course of their weekly series, the hosts Conor Smith, Freedle Coty and Josh Berman chat with ski media luminaries and content creators. From new wave to old school, there is discussion with athletes about their careers, landmark projects from the past, and how each has found their own path within the ski industry.

In Episode 5 Freddle and Josh speak to female ski legends Taylor Brooke Lundquist and Laura Obermeyer about their short film Jyosei, their experiences of both filming with an all female ski crew and also mixing it up and riding with the guys. Taylor talks through her plans for a hectic 2020 season and Laura about her creative inspiration. We cannot get enough of these girls!

You can also go watch Laura's all girls movie Jyosei over on our blog on 'All Female Ski Movies To Get You Stoked For The Season' on our Freedom Forecast Blog.

@ENTRYLEVELACTIVIST

Entry Level Activism

From an old friend of Latitude's Faith Robinson, we love her platform @ENTRYLEVELACTIVIST.  Entry Level Activist was set up to help make activism more relatable and less overwhelming.

Faith's Mission is to help more people relate to real activism.  Brands are so often weaving a language of brand activism, sustainability and 'eco credentials' into their language. If people are put off by brand activism and the language brands are using, is this having an effect on the work and endeavours of real campaigners. Entry Level Activism hopes to retain the meaning of 'activism' and inspire more people to act and to encourage more people to engage beyond the massive amount of entry points for positive change in the fashion + lifestyle industries by supporting continued action.

We met Faith through snowsports and she is a total force to be reckoned with. One of the most most inspiring, friendly and incredible humans we have had the pleasure of meeting.
